Description

This art piece, “Puzzling Dementia,” vividly and intricately represents the complexity and confusion associated with dementia. The face is fragmented, with multiple layers and textures creating a collage-like effect. Using bright, varied colors adds to the sense of disarray and complexity.

The hair is made of a textured, nest-like material, symbolizing the tangled thoughts and memories often experienced by individuals with dementia. The eyes, peering through the fragmented layers, convey a sense of searching and struggle.

A pencil is placed horizontally in the mouth, which might represent the effort to think, remember, or communicate. The background is filled with various patterns and images, adding to the piece’s chaotic and intricate nature.

This work effectively captures the disorienting and multifaceted experience of dementia, inviting viewers to reflect on the challenges faced by those who live with this condition.

Update, Puzzling Dementia is currently (April, May & June) on display at The Surreal Spectacle Participation located at Art Scene West, 803 West Harbor Drive San Diego, CA, 92101
