Embarking on the journey of being a caregiver for my
mother during her battle with dementia was an extraordinary test of strength, patience, and resilience. As her perception changed, the shifting dynamics of our
relationship became emotionally intricate and challenging to navigate. Every breath and decision I made during these
six years bore the weight of this profound experience.
bore the weight of this profound experience.
Following my mother’s passing and the eventual easing of guilt and emotional burden, I found solace and healing through the creation of art. The process of caregiving had taken a toll on me, and in the aftermath, I turned to 3D art as a form of self-reflection and recovery. This artistic venture began after 11/5/2022, a pivotal moment marking my mother’s departure.
My 3D art pieces materialized organically without formal training, allowing my emotions to guide the creative process. Each artwork springs to life through numerous attempts and manipulations, capturing the essence of my journey.
Only when I mustered the courage to share my work with a local artist, who later became a friend and mentor, did I step outside my comfort zone and submit my art to various local shows.
I now present these pieces as a visual testament to the transformative power of art in the face of adversity. I hope these creations resonate with others, offering a glimpse into the complex emotions of caregiving, self-discovery, and the profound impact of loss.
