Description
This is exactly what my mind does the moment I lie down to sleep. The lights go off, and everything comes on—a frog from childhood, a face I haven’t thought of in years, a worry that has no business being that big, a tiny thing blown completely out of scale. Memories crowd in next to fears, and none of them line up the way they should. It all comes at once, layered and loud and impossible to sort.
So I built the inside of that hour. Every object is a thought that wouldn’t leave me alone, pressed up against the next one, the way they do at 2 a.m. when you just want quiet. If you’ve ever lain awake with a head this full, you already know this piece.
