Description

Heaven’s Unseen Sorrow is a sculptural piece measuring 36 inches in height, 3 inches in width, and 4 inches in depth. Constructed from cardboard, styrofoam, cosplay foam, found objects, cement paint, and resin, the artwork features a humanoid figure with an elongated, tapered form. The figure’s head is prominently sculpted with large eyes, a discernible nose, and a mouth, conveying a deep emotion.

The figure’s posture, leaning or bowing with hands clasped together in front of its body, evokes a sense of contemplation or mourning. The surface of the sculpture is rough and granular, resembling stone. Attached to the back of the figure are wings, suggesting an angelic or otherworldly nature. The statue stands securely on a round base, placed on a pedestal in the buyer’s front yard, adding to its sense of presence and stability.

This piece is inspired by the idea that even celestial beings experience sorrow. It imagines angels who carry our prayers up and down Jacob’s ladder, often feeling powerless in the face of human suffering. The artwork was conceived amid global events marked by violence against innocent people, reflecting a poignant perspective on how angels might observe these tragedies.
