Standing over 37 inches tall, this sculpture embodies a deeply emotional journey, capturing a woman lost in thought, burdened by worry and sorrow, yet holding onto a subtle glimmer of hope. I used a lustrous gold finish to emphasize the duality within her—representing the heaviness of her thoughts while also symbolizing the precious and enduring nature of hope. Her posture reflects the weight of life’s challenges, but the light playing on the gold surface reveals moments of resilience and optimism. Through this piece, I wanted to explore the delicate balance between feeling overwhelmed and finding strength to persevere, inviting viewers to see their own struggles and resilience mirrored in her form.
